  9. “Son of man, because Tyre has said of Jerusalem, ‘Aha! The gate to the nations is broken; it has swung open to me; now that she lies in ruins I will be filled,’
  10. Now the coastlands tremble on the day of your downfall; the islands in the sea are dismayed by your demise.”’
  11. “Now you, son of man, take up a lament for Tyre.
  12. Now you are shattered by the seas in the depths of the waters; your merchandise and the people among you have gone down with you.
  13. Now as for you, son of man, tell the house of Israel that this is what they have said: ‘Our transgressions and our sins are heavy upon us, and we are wasting away because of them! How can we live?’
  14. Now the evening before the fugitive arrived, the hand of the LORD was upon me, and He opened my mouth before the man came to me in the morning. So my mouth was opened and I was no longer mute.
  15. Then they will say, ‘This land that was desolate has become like the garden of Eden. The cities that were once ruined, desolate, and destroyed are now fortified and inhabited.’
  16. After a long time you will be summoned. In the latter years you will enter a land that has recovered from war, whose people were gathered from many nations to the mountains of Israel, which had long been desolate. They had been brought out from the nations, and all now dwell securely.
  17. …in order to seize the spoil and carry off the plunder, to turn a hand against the desolate places now inhabited and against a people gathered from the nations, who have acquired livestock and possessions and who live at the center of the land.’
  18. Now on that day when Gog comes against the land of Israel, declares the Lord GOD, My wrath will flare up.
  19. Therefore this is what the Lord GOD says: Now I will restore Jacob from captivity and will have compassion on the whole house of Israel, and I will be jealous for My holy name.
  20. And I saw a wall surrounding the temple area. Now the length of the measuring rod in the man’s hand was six long cubits (each measuring a cubit and a handbreadth), and he measured the wall to be one rod thick and one rod high.
  21. Now the building that faced the temple courtyard on the west was seventy cubits wide, and the wall of the building was five cubits thick all around, with a length of ninety cubits.
  22. Now the upper chambers were smaller because the galleries took more space from the chambers on the lower and middle floors of the building.
  23. Now when the man had finished measuring the interior of the temple area, he led me out by the gate that faced east, and he measured the area all around:
  24. Now let them remove far from Me their prostitution and the funeral offerings for their kings, and I will dwell among them forever.

Now the prince will have the area bordering each side of the area formed by the holy district and the property of the city, extending westward from the western side and eastward from the eastern side, running lengthwise from the western boundary to the eastern boundary and parallel to one of the tribal portions.

  28. Now God had granted Daniel favor and compassion from the chief official,
  29. Now at the end of the time specified by the king, the chief official presented them to Nebuchadnezzar.
  30. To You, O God of my fathers, I give thanks and praise, because You have given me wisdom and power. And now You have made known to me what we have requested, for You have made known to us the dream of the king.”
  31. This was the dream; now we will tell the king its interpretation.
  32. Now when you hear the sound of the horn, flute, zither, lyre, harp, pipes, and all kinds of music, if you are ready to fall down and worship the statue I have made, very good. But if you refuse to worship, you will be thrown at once into the blazing fiery furnace. Then what god will be able to deliver you from my hands?”
  33. This is the dream that I, King Nebuchadnezzar, saw. Now, Belteshazzar, tell me the interpretation, because none of the wise men of my kingdom can interpret it for me. But you are able, because the spirit of the holy gods is in you.”
  34. Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and exalt and glorify the King of heaven, for all His works are true and all His ways are just. And He is able to humble those who walk in pride.
  35. Now the wise men and enchanters were brought before me to read this inscription and interpret it for me, but they could not give its interpretation.
  36. Now this is the inscription that was written: MENE, MENE, TEKEL, PARSIN.
  37. Now it pleased Darius to appoint 120 satraps to rule throughout the kingdom,
  38. Now when Daniel learned that the document had been signed, he went into his house, where the windows of his upper room opened toward Jerusalem, and three times a day he got down on his knees, prayed, and gave thanks to his God, just as he had done before.
  39. The vision of the evenings and the mornings that has been spoken is true. Now you must seal up the vision, for it concerns the distant future.”
  40. Now, O Lord our God, who brought Your people out of the land of Egypt with a mighty hand, and who made for Yourself a name renowned to this day, we have sinned; we have acted wickedly.
  41. So now, our God, hear the prayers and petitions of Your servant. For Your sake, O Lord, cause Your face to shine upon Your desolate sanctuary.
  42. He instructed me and spoke with me, saying: “O Daniel, I have come now to give you insight and understanding.
  43. He said to me, “Daniel, you are a man who is highly precious. Consider carefully the words that I am about to say to you. Stand up, for I have now been sent to you.” And when he had said this to me, I stood up trembling.
  44. Now I have come to explain to you what will happen to your people in the latter days, for the vision concerns those days.”
  45. How can I, your servant, speak with you, my lord? Now I have no strength, nor is any breath left in me.”
  46. “Do not be afraid, you who are highly precious,” he said. “Peace be with you! Be strong now; be very strong!” As he spoke with me, I was strengthened and said, “Speak, my lord, for you have strengthened me.”
  47. Now then, I will tell you the truth: Three more kings will arise in Persia, and then a fourth, who will be far richer than all the others. By the power of his wealth, he will stir up everyone against the kingdom of Greece.
  48. Now when they fall, they will be granted a little help, but many will join them insincerely.
  49. She will pursue her lovers but not catch them; she will seek them but not find them. Then she will say, ‘I will return to my first husband, for then I was better off than now.’
  50. For Israel is as obstinate as a stubborn heifer. Can the LORD now shepherd them like lambs in an open meadow?
  51. I know all about Ephraim, and Israel is not hidden from Me. For now, O Ephraim, you have turned to prostitution; Israel is defiled.
  52. They have been unfaithful to the LORD; for they have borne illegitimate children. Now the New Moon will devour them along with their land.
  53. But they fail to consider in their hearts that I remember all their evil. Now their deeds are all around them; they are before My face.
  54. Israel is swallowed up! Now they are among the nations like a worthless vessel.
  55. Though they hire allies among the nations, I will now round them up, and they will begin to diminish under the oppression of the king of princes.
  56. Though they offer sacrifices as gifts to Me, and though they eat the meat, the LORD does not accept them. Now He will remember their iniquity and punish their sins: They will return to Egypt.
  57. Their hearts are devious; now they must bear their guilt. The LORD will break down their altars and demolish their sacred pillars.
  58. Surely now they will say, “We have no king, for we do not revere the LORD. What can a king do for us?”
  59. Now they sin more and more and make for themselves cast images, idols skillfully made from their silver, all of them the work of craftsmen. People say of them, “They offer human sacrifice and kiss the calves!”
  60. Where is your king now to save you in all your cities, and the rulers to whom you said, “Give me a king and princes”?
  61. “Yet even now,” declares the LORD, “return to Me with all your heart, with fasting, weeping, and mourning.”
  62. Now what do you have against Me, O Tyre, Sidon, and all the regions of Philistia? Are you rendering against Me a recompense? If you retaliate against Me, I will swiftly and speedily return your recompense upon your heads.
  63. Therefore, you will now go into exile as the first of the captives, and your feasting and lounging will come to an end.
  64. Now, therefore, hear the word of the LORD. You say: ‘Do not prophesy against Israel; do not preach against the house of Isaac.’
  65. Now the word of the LORD came to Jonah son of Amittai, saying,
  66. “Tell us now,” they demanded, “who is to blame for this calamity that is upon us? What is your occupation, and where have you come from? What is your country, and who are your people?”
  67. Now the sea was growing worse and worse, so they said to Jonah, “What must we do to you to calm this sea for us?”
  68. Now the LORD had appointed a great fish to swallow Jonah, and Jonah spent three days and three nights in the belly of the fish.
  69. This time Jonah got up and went to Nineveh, in accordance with the word of the LORD. Now Nineveh was an exceedingly great city, requiring a three-day journey.
  70. And now, O LORD, please take my life from me, for it is better for me to die than to live.”
  71. Then I said: “Hear now, O leaders of Jacob, you rulers of the house of Israel. Should you not know justice?
  72. Now hear this, O leaders of the house of Jacob and rulers of the house of Israel, who despise justice and pervert all that is right,
  73. Why do you now cry aloud? Is there no king among you? Has your counselor perished so that anguish grips you like a woman in labor?
  74. Writhe in agony, O Daughter of Zion, like a woman in labor. For now you will leave the city and camp in the open fields. You will go to Babylon; there you will be rescued; there the LORD will redeem you from the hand of your enemies!
  75. But now many nations have assembled against you, saying, “Let her be defiled, and let us feast our eyes on Zion.”
  76. Now, O daughter of troops, mobilize your troops; for a siege is laid against us! With a rod they will strike the cheek of the judge of Israel.
  77. Hear now what the LORD says: “Arise, plead your case before the mountains, and let the hills hear your voice.
  78. The best of them is like a brier; the most upright is sharper than a hedge of thorns. The day for your watchmen has come, the day of your visitation. Now is the time of their confusion.
  79. For I will now break their yoke from your neck and tear away your shackles.”
  80. Nineveh has been like a pool of water throughout her days, but now it is draining away. “Stop! Stop!” they cry, but no one turns back.
  81. Now this is what the LORD of Hosts says: “Consider carefully your ways.
  82. ‘Who is left among you who saw this house in its former glory? How does it look to you now? Does it not appear to you like nothing in comparison?’
  83. But now be strong, O Zerubbabel, declares the LORD. Be strong, O Joshua son of Jehozadak, the high priest. And be strong, all you people of the land, declares the LORD. Work! For I am with you, declares the LORD of Hosts.
  84. Now consider carefully from this day forward: Before one stone was placed on another in the temple of the LORD,
  85. Do not be like your fathers, to whom the former prophets proclaimed that this is what the LORD of Hosts says: ‘Turn now from your evil ways and deeds.’ But they did not listen or pay attention to Me, declares the LORD.
  86. Where are your fathers now? And the prophets, do they live forever?
  87. Now Joshua was dressed in filthy garments as he stood before the angel.
  88. Hear now, O high priest Joshua, you and your companions seated before you, who are indeed a sign. For behold, I am going to bring My servant, the Branch.
  89. Then the angel who was speaking with me came forward and told me, “Now lift up your eyes and see what is approaching.”
  90. Now the people of Bethel had sent Sharezer and Regem-melech, along with their men, to plead before the LORD
  91. This is what the LORD of Hosts says: “Let your hands be strong, you who now hear these words spoken by the prophets who were present when the foundations were laid to rebuild the temple, the house of the LORD of Hosts.
  92. But now I will not treat the remnant of this people as I did in the past,” declares the LORD of Hosts.
  93. …“so now I have resolved to do good again to Jerusalem and Judah. Do not be afraid.
  94. But I will camp around My house because of an army, because of those who march to and fro, and never again will an oppressor overrun My people, for now I keep watch with My own eyes.
  95. “But ask now for God’s favor. Will He be gracious? Since this has come from your hands, will He show you favor?” asks the LORD of Hosts.
  96. “And now this decree is for you, O priests:
  97. So now we call the arrogant blessed. Not only do evildoers prosper, they even test God and escape.’”
  98. “Get up!” he said. “Take the Child and His mother and go to the land of Israel, for those seeking the Child’s life are now dead.”
  99. “Let it be so now,” Jesus replied. “It is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness in this way.” Then John permitted Him.
  100. From the days of John the Baptist until now, the kingdom of heaven has been subject to violence, and the violent lay claim to it.
