Sea of the Arabah

An alternate name for the Dead Sea. This body of water is called "the Sea of Arabah" because it is located within the area of the land of Israel called Arabah (Deuteronomy 3:17; 4:49; Joshua 3:16; 12:3; 2 Kings 14:25).

See Dead Sea.
