Discerning of Spirits

Discerning of spirits, also called distinguishing between spirits, is a spiritual gift that helps a believer recognize whether a message comes from the Holy Spirit, a human source, or an evil spirit. This gift helps the church test spiritual claims and avoid false teaching (1 Corinthians 12:10; 1 John 4:1).
