εὐαγγέλιον, -ου, τό

1. in cl.,
(a) a reward for good tidings (Hom.; pl., LXX, 2 Samuel 4:10);
(b) in pl., εὐ. θύειν, to make a thank-offering for good tidings (Xen., al.).
