1. to separate, select, choose (cl.; in LXX: 2Ma.13.15).
2. to approve, esteem: Romans 14:5.
3. to be of opinion, judge, think: Luke 7:43, 1 Corinthians 11:13; before τοῦτο ὅτι, 2 Corinthians 5:14; with accusative and inf., Acts 16:15; with accusative and pred., Acts 13:46; 26:8.
