The prince of Tyre was not a god who could make land holy. Instead, he made his sanctuaries unclean. Earlier, judgment was declared on his city. The prince of Tyre was destined to meet a terrible end and disappear (compare Ezekiel 26:21; 27:36). The proud leader would fall with his grand ship, reduced to nothing by the Lord's action.
