The four gospels each emphasize different aspects of the empty tomb and resurrection appearances. Matthew focuses on three things:
the reunion of Jesus and his disciples in Galilee,
the Jewish leaders' attempt to discredit the resurrection, and
the importance of the ressurection for the salvation of the world.
