The Sadducees based their views only on the books of Moses (Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy).
Like the Pharisees (12:14), they addressed Jesus as Teacher. The Sadducees often debated with religious teachers (see Josephus, Antiquities 18.1.4).
