Grace and peace are traditional Greek and Hebrew greetings. Grace is an unearned blessing from God's kindness. Peace is a feeling of well-being and contentment, based on the Good News and given by the Holy Spirit (see Galatians 5:22). Together, the phrase refers to gifts from God (see Romans 5:1–2).
