Solomon ended his prayer of dedication by asking God to be available to all of Israel and to answer their prayers. Referring back to when God brought the Israelites out of Egypt (1 Kings 8:16), Solomon reminded God that he chose Israel as his special people (Exodus 19:5; Deuteronomy 7:6; 14:1–2; 26:18; Psalm 135:4; see also Titus 2:11–14; 1 Peter 2:9–10).
