The bronze capital (the decorated top part of the pillar) was 3 cubits high (about 1.4 meters or 4.5 feet). Some ancient copies read 5 cubits (about 2.3 meters or 7.5 feet). This larger number may describe the entire capital, while the Hebrew text may describe only the decorative network of bronze pomegranates (compare 1 Kings 7:17–18).
