Any royal power that exalts itself against the Lord is proud and arrogant. The Lord is the Great King over all rulers.
When kings lift themselves up against him, they set themselves in opposition to God. Such pride will not last.
God will humble and crush every ruler who stands against him (see Isaiah 2:11–12).
