The Lord values only one type of boast—the testimony of those who truly know and understand that He is the one true God (1 Corinthians 1:31; 2 Corinthians 10:17).
loving devotion: This important covenant term (Hebrew khesed) means passionate loyalty. It is often undeserved and can be translated as “mercy,” “grace,” “kindness,” or love. It is the Old Testament equivalent of the New Testament statement that “God is love” (1 John 4:8).
righteousness: God interacts with His people on an ethical, moral level. He does what is right in every situation.
I delight in these things: God does not enjoy judging and punishing sinners. Instead, He actively seeks to save them.
