¹אָדָ֥ם שֵׁ֖ת אֱנֽוֹשׁ׃

¹Adam, Seth, Enosh,

²קֵינָ֥ן מַהֲלַלְאֵ֖ל יָֽרֶד׃

²Kenan, Mahalalel, Jared,

³חֲנ֥וֹךְ מְתוּשֶׁ֖לַח לָֽמֶךְ׃

³Enoch, Methuselah, Lamech, Noah.

⁴נֹ֥חַ שֵׁ֖ם חָ֥ם וָיָֽפֶת׃ס

⁴The sons of Noah:^a

Shem, Ham, and Japheth.

⁵בְּנֵ֣י יֶ֔פֶת גֹּ֣מֶר וּמָג֔וֹג וּמָדַ֖י וְיָוָ֣ן וְתֻבָ֑ל וּמֶ֖שֶׁךְ וְתִירָֽס׃ס

⁵The sons of Japheth: Gomer, Magog, Madai, Javan, Tubal, Meshech, and Tiras.

⁶וּבְנֵ֖י גֹּ֑מֶר אַשְׁכֲּנַ֥ז וְדִיפַ֖ת וְתוֹגַרְמָֽה׃

⁶The sons of Gomer: Ashkenaz, Riphath,^a and Togarmah.

⁷וּבְנֵ֥י יָוָ֖ן אֱלִישָׁ֣ה וְתַרְשִׁ֑ישָׁה כִּתִּ֖ים וְרוֹדָנִֽים׃ס

⁷And the sons of Javan: Elishah, Tarshish, the Kittites, and the Rodanites.

⁸בְּנֵ֖י חָ֑ם כּ֥וּשׁ וּמִצְרַ֖יִם פּ֥וּט וּכְנָֽעַן׃

⁸The sons of Ham: Cush, Mizraim, Put, and Canaan.

⁹וּבְנֵ֣י כ֔וּשׁ סְבָא֙ וַחֲוִילָ֔ה וְסַבְתָּ֥א וְרַעְמָ֖א וְסַבְתְּכָ֑א וּבְנֵ֥י רַעְמָ֖א שְׁבָ֥א וּדְדָֽן׃ס

⁹The sons of Cush: Seba, Havilah, Sabta,^a Raamah, and Sabteca. The sons of Raamah: Sheba and Dedan.

¹⁰וְכ֖וּשׁ יָלַ֣ד אֶת־נִמְר֑וֹד ה֣וּא הֵחֵ֔ל לִהְי֥וֹת גִּבּ֖וֹר בָּאָֽרֶץ׃ס

¹⁰Cush was the father of Nimrod, who began to be a mighty one^a on the earth.

¹¹וּמִצְרַ֡יִם יָלַ֞ד אֶת־לוּדִיִּים וְאֶת־עֲנָמִ֛ים וְאֶת־לְהָבִ֖ים וְאֶת־נַפְתֻּחִֽים׃

¹¹Mizraim was the father of the Ludites, the Anamites, the Lehabites, the Naphtuhites,

¹²וְֽאֶת־פַּתְרֻסִ֞ים וְאֶת־כַּסְלֻחִ֗ים אֲשֶׁ֨ר יָצְא֥וּ מִשָּׁ֛ם פְּלִשְׁתִּ֖ים וְאֶת־כַּפְתֹּרִֽים׃ס

¹²the Pathrusites, the Casluhites (from whom the Philistines came), and the Caphtorites.^a

¹³וּכְנַ֗עַן יָלַ֛ד אֶת־צִיד֥וֹן בְּכֹר֖וֹ וְאֶת־חֵֽת׃

¹³And Canaan was the father of Sidon his firstborn,^a and of the Hittites,^b

¹⁴וְאֶת־הַיְבוּסִי֙ וְאֶת־הָ֣אֱמֹרִ֔י וְאֵ֖ת הַגִּרְגָּשִֽׁי׃

¹⁴the Jebusites, the Amorites, the Girgashites,

¹⁵וְאֶת־הַחִוִּ֥י וְאֶת־הַֽעַרְקִ֖י וְאֶת־הַסִּינִֽי׃

¹⁵the Hivites, the Arkites, the Sinites,

¹⁶וְאֶת־הָאַרְוָדִ֥י וְאֶת־הַצְּמָרִ֖י וְאֶת־הַֽחֲמָתִֽי׃ס

¹⁶the Arvadites, the Zemarites, and the Hamathites.

¹⁷בְּנֵ֣י שֵׁ֔ם עֵילָ֣ם וְאַשּׁ֔וּר וְאַרְפַּכְשַׁ֖ד וְל֣וּד וַאֲרָ֑ם וְע֥וּץ וְח֖וּל וְגֶ֥תֶר וָמֶֽשֶׁךְ׃ס

¹⁷The sons of Shem: Elam, Asshur, Arphaxad, Lud,

and Aram. The sons of Aram:^a Uz, Hul, Gether, and Meshech.^b

¹⁸וְאַרְפַּכְשַׁ֖ד יָלַ֣ד אֶת־שָׁ֑לַח וְשֶׁ֖לַח יָלַ֥ד אֶת־עֵֽבֶר׃

¹⁸Arphaxad was the father of Shelah, and Shelah was the father of Eber.

¹⁹וּלְעֵ֥בֶר יֻלַּ֖ד שְׁנֵ֣י בָנִ֑ים שֵׁ֣ם הָאֶחָ֞ד פֶּ֗לֶג כִּ֤י בְיָמָיו֙ נִפְלְגָ֣ה הָאָ֔רֶץ וְשֵׁ֥ם אָחִ֖יו יָקְטָֽן׃

¹⁹Two sons were born to Eber: One was named Peleg,^a because in his days the earth was divided, and his brother was named Joktan.

²⁰וְיָקְטָ֣ן יָלַ֔ד אֶת־אַלְמוֹדָ֖ד וְאֶת־שָׁ֑לֶף וְאֶת־חֲצַרְמָ֖וֶת וְאֶת־יָֽרַח׃

²⁰And Joktan was the father of Almodad, Sheleph, Hazarmaveth, Jerah,

²¹וְאֶת־הֲדוֹרָ֥ם וְאֶת־אוּזָ֖ל וְאֶת־דִּקְלָֽה׃

²¹Hadoram, Uzal, Diklah,

²²וְאֶת־עֵיבָ֥ל וְאֶת־אֲבִימָאֵ֖ל וְאֶת־שְׁבָֽא׃

²²Obal,^a Abimael, Sheba,

²³וְאֶת־אוֹפִ֥יר וְאֶת־חֲוִילָ֖ה וְאֶת־יוֹבָ֑ב כָּל־אֵ֖לֶּה בְּנֵ֥י יָקְטָֽן׃ס

²³Ophir, Havilah, and Jobab. All these were sons of Joktan.

²⁴שֵׁ֥ם׀ אַרְפַּכְשַׁ֖ד שָֽׁלַח׃

²⁴So from Shem came Arphaxad, Shelah,^a

²⁵עֵ֥בֶר פֶּ֖לֶג רְעֽוּ׃

²⁵Eber, Peleg, Reu,

²⁶שְׂר֥וּג נָח֖וֹר תָּֽרַח׃

²⁶Serug, Nahor, Terah,

²⁷אַבְרָ֖ם ה֥וּא אַבְרָהָֽם׃ס

²⁷and Abram (that is, Abraham).

The Descendants of Abraham

²⁸בְּנֵי֙ אַבְרָהָ֔ם יִצְחָ֖ק וְיִשְׁמָעֵֽאל׃ס

²⁸The sons of Abraham were Isaac and Ishmael.

²⁹אֵ֖לֶּה תֹּלְדוֹתָ֑ם בְּכ֤וֹר יִשְׁמָעֵאל֙ נְבָי֔וֹת וְקֵדָ֥ר וְאַדְבְּאֵ֖ל וּמִבְשָֽׂם׃

²⁹These are their genealogies:

Nebaioth the firstborn of Ishmael, then Kedar, Adbeel, Mibsam,

³⁰מִשְׁמָ֣ע וְדוּמָ֔ה מַשָּׂ֖א חֲדַ֥ד וְתֵימָֽא׃

³⁰Mishma, Dumah, Massa, Hadad, Tema,

³¹יְט֥וּר נָפִ֖ישׁ וָקֵ֑דְמָה אֵ֥לֶּה הֵ֖ם בְּנֵ֥י יִשְׁמָעֵֽאל׃ס

³¹Jetur, Naphish, and Kedemah. These were the sons of Ishmael.

³²וּבְנֵ֨י קְטוּרָ֜ה פִּילֶ֣גֶשׁ אַבְרָהָ֗ם יָלְדָ֞ה אֶת־זִמְרָ֧ן וְיָקְשָׁ֛ן וּמְדָ֥ן וּמִדְיָ֖ן וְיִשְׁבָּ֣ק וְשׁ֑וּחַ וּבְנֵ֥י יָקְשָׁ֖ן שְׁבָ֥א וּדְדָֽן׃ס

³²The sons born to Keturah, Abraham’s concubine: Zimran, Jokshan, Medan, Midian, Ishbak, and Shuah.

The sons of Jokshan: Sheba and Dedan.

³³וּבְנֵ֣י מִדְיָ֗ן עֵיפָ֤ה וָעֵ֙פֶר֙ וַחֲנ֔וֹךְ וַאֲבִידָ֖ע וְאֶלְדָּעָ֑ה כָּל־אֵ֖לֶּה בְּנֵ֥י קְטוּרָֽה׃ס

³³The sons of Midian: Ephah, Epher, Hanoch, Abida, and Eldaah. All of these were Keturah’s sons.

³⁴וַיּ֥וֹלֶד אַבְרָהָ֖ם אֶת־יִצְחָ֑קס בְּנֵ֣י יִצְחָ֔ק עֵשָׂ֖ו וְיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ס

³⁴Abraham was the father of Isaac. The sons of Isaac: Esau and Israel.

The Descendants of Esau

³⁵בְּנֵ֖י עֵשָׂ֑ו אֱלִיפַ֛ז רְעוּאֵ֥ל וִיע֖וּשׁ וְיַעְלָ֥ם וְקֹֽרַח׃ס

³⁵The sons of Esau: Eliphaz, Reuel, Jeush, Jalam, and Korah.

³⁶בְּנֵ֖י אֱלִיפָ֑ז תֵּימָ֤ן וְאוֹמָר֙ צְפִ֣י וְגַעְתָּ֔ם קְנַ֖ז וְתִמְנָ֥ע וַעֲמָלֵֽק׃ס

³⁶The sons of Eliphaz: Teman, Omar, Zepho,^a Gatam, and Kenaz; and by Timna, Amalek.

³⁷בְּנֵ֖י רְעוּאֵ֑ל נַ֥חַת זֶ֖רַח שַׁמָּ֥ה וּמִזָּֽה׃ס

³⁷The sons of Reuel: Nahath, Zerah, Shammah, and Mizzah.

The Descendants of Seir

³⁸וּבְנֵ֣י שֵׂעִ֔יר לוֹטָ֥ן וְשׁוֹבָ֖ל וְצִבְע֣וֹן וַֽעֲנָ֑ה וְדִישֹׁ֥ן וְאֵ֖צֶר וְדִישָֽׁן׃

³⁸The sons of Seir:

Lotan, Shobal, Zibeon, Anah, Dishon, Ezer, and Dishan.

³⁹וּבְנֵ֥י לוֹטָ֖ן חֹרִ֣י וְהוֹמָ֑ם וַאֲח֥וֹת לוֹטָ֖ן תִּמְנָֽע׃ס

³⁹The sons of Lotan: Hori and Homam.^a Timna was Lotan’s sister.

⁴⁰בְּנֵ֣י שׁוֹבָ֔ל עַלְיָ֧ן וּמָנַ֛חַת וְעֵיבָ֖ל שְׁפִ֣י וְאוֹנָ֑םס וּבְנֵ֥י צִבְע֖וֹן אַיָּ֥ה וַעֲנָֽה׃

⁴⁰The sons of Shobal: Alvan,^a Manahath, Ebal, Shepho,^b and Onam. The sons of Zibeon: Aiah and Anah.

⁴¹בְּנֵ֥י עֲנָ֖ה דִּישׁ֑וֹןס וּבְנֵ֣י דִישׁ֔וֹן חַמְרָ֥ן וְאֶשְׁבָּ֖ן וְיִתְרָ֥ן וּכְרָֽן׃ס

⁴¹The son^a of Anah: Dishon. The sons of Dishon: Hemdan,^b Eshban, Ithran, and Cheran.

⁴²בְּֽנֵי־אֵ֔צֶר בִּלְהָ֥ן וְזַעֲוָ֖ן יַעֲקָ֑ן בְּנֵ֥י דִישׁ֖וֹן ע֥וּץ וַאֲרָֽן׃פ

⁴²The sons of Ezer: Bilhan, Zaavan, and Akan.^a The sons of Dishan: Uz and Aran.

The Kings of Edom

⁴³וְאֵ֣לֶּה הַמְּלָכִ֗ים אֲשֶׁ֤ר מָלְכוּ֙ בְּאֶ֣רֶץ אֱד֔וֹם לִפְנֵ֥י מְלָךְ־מֶ֖לֶךְ לִבְנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל בֶּ֚לַע בֶּן־בְּע֔וֹר וְשֵׁ֥ם עִיר֖וֹ דִּנְהָֽבָה׃

⁴³These are the kings who reigned in the land of Edom before any king reigned over the Israelites:^a

Bela son of Beor. His city was named Dinhabah.

⁴⁴וַיָּ֖מָת בָּ֑לַע וַיִּמְלֹ֣ךְ תַּחְתָּ֔יו יוֹבָ֥ב בֶּן־זֶ֖רַח מִבָּצְרָֽה׃

⁴⁴When Bela died, Jobab son of Zerah from Bozrah reigned in his place.

⁴⁵וַיָּ֖מָת יוֹבָ֑ב וַיִּמְלֹ֣ךְ תַּחְתָּ֔יו חוּשָׁ֖ם מֵאֶ֥רֶץ הַתֵּימָנִֽי׃

⁴⁵When Jobab died, Husham from the land of the Temanites reigned in his place.

⁴⁶וַיָּ֖מָת חוּשָׁ֑ם וַיִּמְלֹ֨ךְ תַּחְתָּ֜יו הֲדַ֣ד בֶּן־בְּדַ֗ד הַמַּכֶּ֤ה אֶת־מִדְיָן֙ בִּשְׂדֵ֣ה מוֹאָ֔ב וְשֵׁ֥ם עִיר֖וֹ׃ עֲיוֹת׃

⁴⁶When Husham died, Hadad son of Bedad, who defeated Midian in the country of Moab, reigned in his place. And the name of his city was Avith.

⁴⁷וַיָּ֖מָת הֲדָ֑ד וַיִּמְלֹ֣ךְ תַּחְתָּ֔יו שַׂמְלָ֖ה מִמַּשְׂרֵקָֽה׃

⁴⁷When Hadad died, Samlah from Masrekah reigned in his place.

⁴⁸וַיָּ֖מָת שַׂמְלָ֑ה וַיִּמְלֹ֣ךְ תַּחְתָּ֔יו שָׁא֖וּל מֵרְחֹב֥וֹת הַנָּהָֽר׃

⁴⁸When Samlah died, Shaul from Rehoboth on the Euphrates^a reigned in his place.

⁴⁹וַיָּ֖מָת שָׁא֑וּל וַיִּמְלֹ֣ךְ תַּחְתָּ֔יו בַּ֥עַל חָנָ֖ן בֶּן־עַכְבּֽוֹר׃

⁴⁹When Shaul died, Baal-hanan son of Achbor reigned in his place.

⁵⁰וַיָּ֙מָת֙ בַּ֣עַל חָנָ֔ן וַיִּמְלֹ֤ךְ תַּחְתָּיו֙ הֲדַ֔ד וְשֵׁ֥ם עִיר֖וֹ פָּ֑עִי וְשֵׁ֨ם אִשְׁתּ֤וֹ מְהֵיטַבְאֵל֙ בַּת־מַטְרֵ֔ד בַּ֖ת מֵ֥י זָהָֽב׃

⁵⁰When Baal-hanan died, Hadad reigned in his place. His city was named Pau,^a and his wife’s name was Mehetabel daughter of Matred, the daughter of Me-zahab.

⁵¹וַיָּ֖מָת הֲדָ֑דס וַיִּהְיוּ֙ אַלּוּפֵ֣י אֱד֔וֹם אַלּ֥וּף תִּמְנָ֛ע אַלּ֥וּף עַלְיָה אַלּ֥וּף יְתֵֽת׃

⁵¹Then Hadad died.

Now the chiefs of Edom were Timna, Alvah, Jetheth,

⁵²אַלּ֧וּף אָהֳלִיבָמָ֛ה אַלּ֥וּף אֵלָ֖ה אַלּ֥וּף פִּינֹֽן׃

⁵²Oholibamah, Elah, Pinon,

⁵³אַלּ֥וּף קְנַ֛ז אַלּ֥וּף תֵּימָ֖ן אַלּ֣וּף מִבְצָֽר׃

⁵³Kenaz, Teman, Mibzar,

⁵⁴אַלּ֥וּף מַגְדִּיאֵ֖ל אַלּ֣וּף עִירָ֑ם אֵ֖לֶּה אַלּוּפֵ֥י אֱדֽוֹם׃פ

⁵⁴Magdiel, and Iram. These were the chiefs of Edom.
