Notes

Believers are saved from eternal punishment (see Romans 8:1), but they must still answer to God for their actions (see 1 Corinthians 3:12–15; 4:4–5; 2 Corinthians 5:10). Paul urges his readers to live a holy life in order to be blameless when Christ returns (see Philippians 1:6, 10; 1 Thessalonians 3:13; 5:23–24).

Paul thanks God for the spiritual gifts he sees in the Corinthian Christians. He is confident that God will protect them until the end.
