Ezekiel 25
A Prophecy against Ammon
3Tell the Ammonites to hear the word of the Lord GOD, for this is what the Lord GOD says: ‘Because you exclaimed, “Aha!” when My sanctuary was profaned, when the land of Israel was laid waste, and when the house of Judah went into exile,
3And say to the sons of Ammon, hear the word of the Lord YHWH, thus says the Lord YHWH: ‘Because you said, “Aha!” Against My sanctuary when it was profaned, and against the land of Israel when it became desolate, and against the house of Judah when they went, into captivity;
4therefore I will indeed give you as a possession to the people of the East. They will set up their camps and pitch their tents among you. They will eat your fruit and drink your milk.
4therefore behold, I am giving you to the sons of the East as a possession, and they will settle their encampments among you, and they will put their tents among you; they will eat your fruit, and they will drink your milk.
6For this is what the Lord GOD says: ‘Because you clapped your hands and stomped your feet and rejoiced over the land of Israel with a heart full of contempt,
6For thus says the Lord YHWH: ‘Because of your clapping hands and your stomping with feet, and you rejoiced with all contempt of heart against the land of Israel,
7therefore I will indeed stretch out My hand against you and give you as plunder to the nations. I will cut you off from the peoples and exterminate you from the countries. I will destroy you, and you will know that I am the LORD.’
7therefore behold, I am stretching out My hand against you, and will give you as plunder to the nations, and I will cut you off from the peoples, and I will cause you to perish from the lands; I will destroy you, and you will know that I am YHWH!’
A Prophecy against Moab
9therefore I will indeed expose the flank of Moab beginning with its frontier cities—Beth-jeshimoth, Baal-meon, and Kiriathaim—the glory of the land.
9therefore behold, I am going to lay open the shoulder of Moab from the cities, from its cities on its frontier, the glory of the land—Beth-jeshimoth, Baal-meon, and Kiriathaim—
10I will give it along with the Ammonites as a possession to the people of the East, so that the Ammonites will no longer be remembered among the nations.
10to the sons of the East, along with the sons of Ammon, and I will give it as a possession, so that the sons of Ammon may not be remembered among the nations.
A Prophecy against Edom
13therefore this is what the Lord GOD says: I will stretch out My hand against Edom and cut off from it both man and beast. I will make it a wasteland, and from Teman to Dedan they will fall by the sword.
13Therefore, thus says the Lord YHWH: I will stretch out My hand against Edom, and will cut off from it man and beast, and I will give it as a desolation; from Teman and to Dedan they will fall by the sword.
14I will take My vengeance on Edom by the hand of My people Israel, and they will deal with Edom according to My anger and wrath. Then they will know My vengeance, declares the Lord GOD.’
14And I will lay My vengeance on Edom by the hand of My people Israel, and they will act in Edom according to My anger and according to My fury, and they will know My vengeance, a declaration of the Lord YHWH.’
A Prophecy against the Philistines
15This is what the Lord GOD says: ‘Because the Philistines acted in vengeance, taking vengeance with malice of soul to destroy Judah with ancient hostility,
15Thus says the Lord YHWH: ‘Because the Philistines acted with vengeance and took vengeance with scorn in the soul, to destroy with ancient hostility,
16therefore this is what the Lord GOD says: Behold, I will stretch out My hand against the Philistines, and I will cut off the Cherethites and destroy the remnant along the coast.
16therefore, thus says the Lord YHWH: Behold, I am stretching out My hand against the Philistines, and I will cut off the Cherethites, and I will destroy the remnant of the coast of the sea.
