The Portions for the Tribes
1“Now these are the names of the tribes:
At the northern frontier, Dan will have one portion bordering the road of Hethlon to Lebo-hamath and running on to Hazar-enan on the border of Damascus with Hamath to the north, and extending from the east side to the west side.
1“And these are the names of the tribes: From the border of the north, along the coast of the way of Hethlon, at the entrance of Hamath, unto Hazar-enan, on the border of Damascus northward, toward the hand of Hamath, there will be from the side of the east to the west for Dan one portion.
The Portions for the Priests and Levites
8Bordering the territory of Judah, from east to west, will be the portion you are to set apart. It will be 25,000 cubits wide,a and the length of a tribal portion from east to west. In the center will be the sanctuary.
8And along the border of Judah, from the side of the east to the side of the west, will be the portion that you will lift up—five and twenty thousand in width, and in length as one of the portions, from the side of the east to the side of the west, with the sanctuary in the middle of it.
10This will be the holy portion for the priests. It will be 25,000 cubits long on the north side, 10,000 cubits wide on the west side, 10,000 cubits wide on the east side, and 25,000 cubits long on the south side. In the center will be the sanctuary of the LORD.
10And to these will be the holy portion for the priests: To the north five and twenty thousand, and to the west ten thousand in width, and to the east ten thousand in width, and to the south five and twenty thousand in length; and the sanctuary of YHWH will be in the middle of it
11It will be for the consecrated priests, the descendants of Zadok, who kept My charge and did not go astray as the Levites did when the Israelites went astray.
11for the priests who are sanctified from the sons of Zadok, those who have kept My charge, who did not go astray in the straying of the sons of Israel, as the Levites went astray.
13Bordering the territory of the priests, the Levites shall have an area 25,000 cubits long and 10,000 cubits wide. The whole length will be 25,000 cubits, and the width 10,000 cubits.
13And the Levites shall be next to the border of the priests, five and twenty thousand in length, and ten thousand in width; all the length shall be five and twenty thousand, and the width ten thousand.
The Common Portion
15The remaining area, 5,000 cubitsa wide and 25,000 cubits long, will be for common use by the city, for houses, and for pastureland. The city will be in the center of it
15And the five thousand that are remaining in width, along the edge of the five and twenty thousand, is for common use; it is for the city, for dwellings, and for pastureland; and the city will be in the middle of it.
16and will have these measurements: 4,500 cubitsa on the north side, 4,500 cubits on the south side, 4,500 cubits on the east side, and 4,500 cubits on the west side.
16And these shall be its measurements: The side of the north, five hundred and four thousand; and the side of the south, five and five hundred and four thousand; and the side of the east, five hundred and four thousand; and the side of the west, five hundred and four thousand.
17The pastureland of the city will extend 250 cubitsa to the north, 250 cubits to the south, 250 cubits to the east, and 250 cubits to the west.
17And the pastureland for the city will be to the north fifty and two hundred, and to the south fifty and two hundred, and to the east fifty and two hundred, and to the west fifty and two hundred.
18The remainder of the length bordering the holy portion and running adjacent to it will be 10,000 cubits on the east side and 10,000 cubits on the west side. Its produce will supply food for the workers of the city.
18And the remainder of the length alongside the holy portion shall be ten thousand to the east, and ten thousand to the west; and it will be adjacent to the holy portion, and its produce will be for food for the workers of the city.
20The entire portion will be a square, 25,000 cubits by 25,000 cubits. You are to set apart the holy portion, along with the city property.
20All the portion shall be five and twenty thousand by five and twenty thousand, foursquare; you shall lift up the holy portion along with the property of the city.
The Portion for the Prince
21The remaining area on both sides of the holy portion and of the property of the city will belong to the prince. He will own the land adjacent to the tribal portions, extending eastward from the 25,000 cubits of the holy district toward the eastern border, and westward from the 25,000 cubits to the western border. And in the center of them will be the holy portion and the sanctuary of the temple.
21And the remainder is unto the prince, on this side and on this side of the holy portion and the property of the city; toward the faces of the five and twenty thousand portion alongside the border of the east, and westward alongside the faces of the five and twenty thousand along the border of the west, adjacent to the allotments, is unto the prince. The holy portion and the sanctuary of the temple will be in the midst of it.
22So the Levitical property and the city property will lie in the center of the area belonging to the prince—the area between the borders of Judah and Benjamin.
22And apart from the possession of the Levites, and from the possession of the city, in the midst of what will be unto the prince, between the border of Judah and between the border of Benjamin, will be unto the prince.
