Notes

  • Ararat was a mountainous region north of Babylon.

  • Ashkenaz was Noah’s great-grandson through Japheth and Gomer (Genesis 10:2–3). His descendants likely lived in Ararat, as did the people of Minni, who are otherwise unknown.
