Jesus before Pilate
2And they began to accuse Him, saying, “We found this man subverting our nation, forbidding payment of taxes to Caesar, and proclaiming Himself to be Christ, a King.”
2And they began to accuse Him, saying, “We found this man misleading our nation and forbidding taxes to be given to Caesar, and declaring Himself to be Christ, a King.”
Jesus before Herod
8When Herod saw Jesus, he was greatly pleased. He had wanted to see Him for a long time, because he had heard about Him and was hoping to see Him perform a miracle.
8And Herod, having seen Jesus, was exceedingly glad; for of a long time he is wanting to see Him, because of hearing concerning Him; and he was hoping to see some sign done by Him.
The Crowd Chooses Barabbas
14and said to them, “You brought me this man as one who was inciting the people to rebellion. I have examined Him here in your presence and found Him not guilty of your charges against Him.
14said to them, “You brought to me this man as one misleading the people; and behold, having examined Him before you, I found nothing in this man guilty of that accusation you are bringing against Him—
22A third time he said to them, “What evil has this man done? I have found in Him no offense worthy of death. So after I punish Him, I will release Him.”
22And he said to them a third time, “What evil indeed did this man commit? I found no cause of death in Him. Therefore having chastised Him, I will release Him.”
The Crucifixion
26As the soldiers led Him away, they seized Simon of Cyrene on his way in from the country, and they put the cross on him to carry behind Jesus.
26And as they led Him away, having laid hold on Simon, a certain man of Cyrene coming from the country, they put upon him the cross, to carry it behind Jesus.
35The people stood watching, and the rulers sneered at Him,a saying, “He saved others; let Him save Himself if He is the Christ of God, the Chosen One.”
35And the people stood, looking on. And the rulers also were deriding Him, saying, “He saved others; let Him save Himself if this is the Christ of God, the Chosen One.”
