1And from there, having risen up, He comes into the borders of Judea, and beyond the Jordan. And again crowds come together to Him, and as He had been accustomed, again He was teaching them.
Jesus Blesses the Children
14But when Jesus saw this, He was indignant and told them, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not hinder them! For the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.
14And having seen, Jesus was indignant and said to them, “Permit the little children to come to Me; do not forbid them! For of such is the kingdom of God.
The Rich Young Man
17As Jesus started on His way, a man ran up and knelt before Him. “Good Teacher,” he asked, “what must I do to inherit eternal life?”
17And of Him going forth into the way, one having run up and having knelt down to Him was questioning Him, “Good Teacher, what shall I do so that I may inherit eternal life?”
19You know the commandments: ‘Do not murder, do not commit adultery, do not steal, do not bear false witness, do not cheat others, honor your father and mother.’”a
19You know the commandments: ‘You shall not murder, you shall not commit adultery, you shall not steal, you shall not bear false witness, you shall not defraud, honor your father and mother.”
21Jesus looked at him, loved him, and said to him, “There is one thing you lack: Go, sell everything you own and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow Me.”a
21And Jesus, having looked on him, loved him and said to him, “One thing to you is lacking: Go, sell as much as you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.”
29“Truly I tell you,” Jesus replied, “no one who has left home or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or fields for My sake and for the gospel

32As they were going up the road to Jerusalem, Jesus was walking ahead of them. The disciples were amazed, but those who followed were afraid. Again Jesus took the Twelve aside and began to tell them what was going to happen to Him:
32And they were on the way, going up to Jerusalem, and Jesus was going on before them. And they were astonished, and those following were afraid. And having taken aside the Twelve again, He began to tell them the things being about to happen to Him:
33“Look, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be delivered over to the chief priests and scribes. They will condemn Him to death and will deliver Him over to the Gentiles,
33“Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be betrayed to the chief priests and to the scribes, and they will condemn Him to death and will betray Him to the Gentiles.
The Request of James and John
38“You do not know what you are asking,” Jesus replied. “Can you drink the cup I will drink, or be baptized with the baptism I will undergo?”
38And Jesus said to them, “You do not know what you ask. Are you able to drink the cup that I drink, or to be baptized with the baptism with which I am baptized?”
39“We can,” the brothers answered.
“You will drink the cup that I drink,” Jesus said, “and you will be baptized with the baptism that I undergo.
39And they said to Him, “We are able.” And Jesus said to them, “You will drink the cup that I drink, and you will be baptized with the baptism with which I am baptized.
42So Jesus called them together and said, “You know that those regarded as rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their superiors exercise authority over them.
42And Jesus, having summoned them, says to them, “You know that those considered to rule over the Gentiles exercise lordship over them, and their great ones exercise authority over them.
