Psalm 110

God’s Faithful Messiah

1A Psalm of David.

The LORD said to my Lord:

“Sit at My right hand

until I make Your enemies

a footstool for Your feet.”

1A Psalm of David. An utterance of YHWH to my Lord: “Sit at My right hand, until I make your enemies a footstool for Your feet.”

2The LORD extends Your mighty scepter from Zion:

“Rule in the midst of Your enemies.”

2YHWH sends forth the rod of your strength from Zion: “Rule in the midst of Your enemies!”

3Your people shall be willing

on Your day of battle.

Arrayed in holy splendor, from the womb of the dawn,

to You belongs the dew of Your youth.

3Your people are freewill offerings in the day of your might, in the splendors of holiness; from the womb of the morning, the dew of your youth is unto you.

4The LORD has sworn

and will not change His mind:

“You are a priest forever

in the order of Melchizedek.”

4YHWH has sworn, and He will not change His mind: “You are a priest forever, according to the order of Melchizedek.”

5The Lord is at Your right hand;

He will crush kings in the day of His wrath.

5My Lord is at Your right hand; he will shatter kings in the day of his anger;

6He will judge the nations, heaping up the dead;

He will crush the leaders far and wide.

6He will judge among the nations, he will fill it with corpses; he will wound the head of many lands;

7He will drink from the brook by the road;

therefore He will lift up His head.

7from the brook by the way He will drink. By this He will lift up the head.
