Psalm 114
A Psalm of Exodus
In the going forth of Israel from Egypt, the house of Jacob from a people speaking strangely,
Judah became His sanctuary, Israel His dominion.
The sea saw Him and fled; the Jordan turned to the back.
The mountains skipped like rams, the hills like sons of the flock.
What was it to you, O sea, that you fled, O Jordan, that you turned back,
O mountains, that you skipped like rams, O hills, like sons of the flock?
Tremble before the face of the Lord, O earth, before the face of the God of Jacob—
turning the rock into a pool of waters, the flint into a spring of waters!
