1Hallelujah!a
Sing to the LORD a new song—
His praise in the assembly of the godly.
1Hallelu YAH! Sing to YHWH a new song—His praise in the assembly of the holy ones!
2Let Israel rejoice in their Maker;
let the children of Zion rejoice in their King.
2Let Israel rejoice in his Maker; let the sons of Zion rejoice in their King!
3Let them praise His name with dancing,
and make music to Him with tambourine and harp.
3Let them praise His name with dancing; with tambourine and harp let them make music to Him!
4For the LORD takes pleasure in His people;
He adorns the afflicted with salvation.
4For YHWH delights in His people; He adorns the humble with salvation.
5Let the saints exult in glory;
let them shout for joy upon their beds.
5Let the holy ones exult in His glory; let them sing for joy upon their beds.
6May the high praises of God be in their mouths,
and a double-edged sword in their hands,
6Let the high praises of God be in their throat, and a two-edged sword in their hand,
7to inflict vengeance on the nations
and punishment on the peoples,
7to execute vengeance on the nations, and punishments against the peoples,
8to bind their kings with chains
and their nobles with shackles of iron,
8to bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with shackles of iron,
9to execute the judgment written against them.
This honor is for all His saints.
Hallelujah!
9to execute against them the judgment written—it is an honor for all His holy ones. Praise YAH!
