Notes

God will destroy the wicked like a lion tearing its prey (Isaiah 5:29; 31:4; Ezekiel 19:3; compare Psalms 7:2; 22:13).

The wicked will experience God’s justice, while the godly will see God’s everlasting salvation.

God appears as judge. He reminds both the godly and the ungodly that sacrifices and reciting the law are worthless without thankfulness, repentance, and justice.
