Notes

Israel was set apart from every other nation by the uniqueness of its God and by the relationship the people had with him.

David responded with prayer to God’s promise that his family would rule as kings for many generations. In his prayer, he repeatedly acknowledged that God alone is the true king and Sovereign Lord.

David was not happy just making a tent for the ark (2 Samuel 6:17). He wanted to build a house for God.
