Then they shall bring out the damsel to the door of her father’s house, and the men of her city shall stone her with stones that she die: because she hath wrought folly in Israel, to play the whore in her father’s house: so shalt thou put evil away from among you.

…then they shall bring out the young woman to the door of the house of her father, and the men of her city shall stone her with stones to death, because she has done a disgraceful thing in Israel to play the prostitute in the house of her father. And you shall put away the evil from among you.

Notes

by being promiscuous (literally acting as a prostitute): One act of sexual intercourse by an unmarried woman was enough for her to receive this shameful label. Under the law, this offense could result in the death penalty.
