1A Psalm of David.
The LORD is my shepherd;a
I shall not want.
1A Psalm of David. YHWH is my shepherd; I shall not lack.
2He makes me lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside quiet waters.
2In pastures green He makes me to lie down; beside waters of resting He guides me.
3He restores my soul;
He guides me in the paths of righteousness
for the sake of His name.
3He restores my soul; He guides me in the paths of righteousness, for the sake of His name.
4Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,a
I will fear no evil,
for You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
4Even though I may walk in the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
5You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
5You arrange a table before me in front of my enemies; You anoint my head with the oil; my cup overflows.
6Surely goodness and mercy will follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the LORD
forever.a
6Surely goodness and mercy will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of YHWH for the length of days.
