Psalm 65

Praise Awaits God in Zion

1For the choirmaster. A Psalm of David. A song.

Praise awaits You, O God, in Zion;

to You our vows will be fulfilled.

1For the one directing. A Psalm of David. A Song. To You praise is waiting, O God, in Zion, and to You the vow will be fulfilled.

2O You who listen to prayer,

all people will come to You.

2O Hearer of prayer, to You all flesh will come.

3When iniquities prevail against me,

You atone for our transgressions.

3Matters of iniquities prevail against me—our transgressions, You wipe them away!

4Blessed is the one You choose

and bring near to dwell in Your courts!

We are filled with the goodness of Your house,

the holiness of Your temple.

4Blessed is the one You choose and bring near, that he may dwell in Your courts; we will be satisfied with the goodness of Your house, the holiness of Your temple.

5With awesome deeds of righteousness You answer us,

O God of our salvation,

the hope of all the ends of the earth

and of the farthest seas.

5With fearsome things, may You answer us in righteousness, O God of our salvation, the confidence for all the farthest ends of the earth and the sea,

6You formed the mountains by Your power,

having girded Yourself with might.

6the One establishing the mountains by His strength, being girded with might,

7You stilled the roaring of the seas,

the pounding of their waves,

and the tumult of the nations.

7stilling the roaring of the seas, the roar of their waves, and the uproar of the peoples.

8Those who live far away fear Your wonders;

You make the dawn and sunset shout for joy.

8And those dwelling at the ends were afraid of Your signs; the goings forth of morning and evening You cause to sing.

9You attend to the earth and water it;

with abundance You enrich it.

The streams of God are full of water,

for You prepare our grain

by providing for the earth.

9You attend to the earth and give it abundance; greatly You enrich it; the stream of God is full of water; You provide their grain when thus You prepare it—

10You soak its furrows and level its ridges;

You soften it with showers and bless its growth.

10soaking its furrows, descending on its ridges; with showers You soften it; its springing up You bless.

11You crown the year with Your bounty,

and Your paths overflow with plenty.

11You crown the year with Your goodness, and Your tracks drip with fatness.

12The pastures of the wilderness overflow;

the hills are robed with joy.

12They drip on the pastures of the wilderness, and the hills are surrounded with joy.

13The pastures are clothed with flocks,

and the valleys are decked with grain.

They shout in triumph;

indeed, they sing.

13The meadows are clothed with the flock, and the valleys are feeble with grain—they shout for joy and even sing.
